Two candidates for post of president repeat test on language

Two candidates for the post of the president of Kyrgyzstan repeated the test for knowledge of the Kyrgyz language, the website of the National Commission on the State Language reported.

According to it, the candidates Askarbek Abyshev and Sovetbek Abykulov passed the exam on August 15, but couldn’t score the required points.

As reported, on August 18 they again repeated the test, according to which Askarbek Abyshev scored 60.45 points, and Sovetbek Abykulov — 60.54 points. They passed a second test in accordance with Clause 5, Part 5 of the Regulations on the Testing Rules for Determining the Level of Possession of State Language by Candidates for the Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan, the National Commission reports.

According to the regulations, candidates must pass 4 subtests and, according to the results, score at least 60 points.

Of those who passed the test, 5 people failed to score the required number of points, and they were given only a letter of participation in the testing.

As the National Commission told 24.kg news agency, if the candidate who passed the test is not satisfied with the results of the examination, he can apply to a specially created appeal board, which, after reviewing his application, decides whether to allow him to repeat the test or not.
