Zanoza has to pay another 6 million soms

Zanoza and its co-founder Naryn Aiyp has to pay another 6 million soms. The Board of Bishkek City Court confirmed the decision of the first instance.

The website Zanoza and Naryn Aiyp must pay 3 million soms to the president and remove from the site an article that referred to the reference to the interview to the «7th channel» of former president Askar Akaev about the alleged theft of 50 million soms by Almazbek Atambayev.

Earlier, five prosecutions against journalists and the publication Zanoza.kg, as well as lawyers of the Ata Meken party and ex-MP Cholpon Dzhakupova, were filed by the Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Indira Dzoldubaeva. The courts of first instance satisfied the claims in full.

In total, the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic estimated the honor and dignity of the country’s president in 40 million soms. Three million should be paid by the editor-in-chief of Dina Maslova, nine million by journalist Naryn Aiyp, another 15 million soms by the public association ProMedia (the founder of the site). Three million soms should be paid by ex-deputy Cholpon Dzhakupova, ten million — lawyers of Ata Meken party.
