Kyrgyzstan increases quotas for Uzbek citizens wishing to study at universities

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Education has increased quotas for higher education for ethnic Kyrgyz —citizens of Uzbekistan. Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov said this at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation, delimitation and demarcation of borders.

«Our peoples have a similar history, cultural ties, language. As they say, «Tilibiz da, dilibiz da bir» (one blood, one language). This brings ordinary citizens closer together and imposes duties on intensifying cultural and humanitarian cooperation,» the head of the Kyrgyz government said.

According to him, it is planned to hold days of culture of the two countries in October 2017.
