Kyrgyzstan is interested in supplying electricity to the EEU countries. This was announced today at the meeting of the intergovernmental council of the Eurasian Economic Union by Prime Minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
According to him, today a decision that will allow the republic to participate in electricity trading on the trading platforms of Russia and Kazakhstan is being discussed. «Kyrgyzstan has a huge undeveloped hydropower potential. Single trading platforms will allow us to export surplus electricity, and in case of a deficit — to import,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov explained.
He added that Kyrgyzstan is interested in a single electricity market that will provide unhindered access to national markets and infrastructure of partner countries and uninterrupted power supply.
