Sadyr Japarov sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison

The judge of the Pervomaisky District Court, Emil Kaiypov, sentenced the former deputy of Parliament Sadyr Japarov to 11 years and 6 months in the high security penal colony for complicity in the organization of a rally in Karakol in 2013.

He was charged under Articles 234 (hooliganism), 341 (resistance to authority), 227 (taking a hostage) and 113 (threatening with murder) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Sadyr Japarov was acquitted on three articles and convicted under Article 227 (hostage taking) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
