EEC: Volume of all types of transportation grows in Kyrgyzstan

As a result of the transfer of transport control between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to the external border of the republic in 2016, the volume of road transportation increased by 4 percent compared to 2015, freight traffic — by 7 percent. This was announced today by Adamkul Zhunusov, a member of the Energy and Infrastructure Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at a round table «Eurasian integration: topical issues and development of transport and infrastructure.»

According to him, there is also a positive dynamics in the railway transport: in comparison with 2015, the volume of transportations increased by 33 percent and amounted to 1.7 million soms in 2016.

Adamkul Zhunusov added that since 2017 the introduction of a unified railway tariff and the provision of equal access to seaports also gave rise to transportation growth.
