Kyrgyzstani takes third place at Asian boxing championship

Kyrgyzstani Alisher Chatkalbekov took the third place at the Asian Youth Championship in boxing, the Asian Confederation of the sport reported.

As noted, the competition ended in Bangkok (Thailand). The awards were played in ten weight categories, Kyrgyzstanis performed at seven of them. Two of our boxers dropped out of the fight in the 1/8 finals, four — in the quarter finals.

Alisher Chatkalbekov in the weight category 81 kg held two fights: in the quarter finals he confidently defeated the representative of Chinese Taipei, and in the semifinals in a stubborn struggle he lost to the Iranian. This was enough to win a bronze medal.
