The National Bank doesn’t abandon the idea of ​​opening an Islamic bank in , despite the criticism of international financial institutions. Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic Tolkunbek Abdygulov announced this at a press conference today.

According to him, the National Bank still adheres to the position that it should participate in the establishment of development institutions in the country. The important direction now is development of the Islamic principles of financing in the country,Tolkunbek Abdygulov believes.

«The International Monetary Fund has opposed our participation in the project. However, we always draw attention to the fact that in the history of the formation of the banking system of , the National Bank has repeatedly participated in various projects. Thus, with the support of the National Bank of the , the first bank cards were launched. We participated in creating the basis for Aiyl Bank and credit unions," Tolkunbek Abdygulov said.
