Adviser to the President of Kyrgyzstan on a voluntary basis, ex-head of the presidential staff Farid Niyazov was elected the first deputy leader of SDPK.
A regular meeting of the political council of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan was held in Bishkek yesterday, where they set the date for the 16th Party Congress. It will be held on July 15. At the congress, as expected, delegates will choose a candidate for the presidency. Earlier, the SDPK political council nominated Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov for this post.
Farid Niyazov became the first deputy leader of the party at the initiative of Parliament Speaker Chynybai Tursunbekov. The Political Council supported him unanimously.
Presidential elections in will be held on October 15. Three candidates have applied to the CEC: Nazarbek Nyshanov, Omurbek Tekebayev and Temir Sariev. The nomination of candidates will end on August 15.
