40 people drowned in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of year

In 2017, 40 people have drowned in the water reservoirs of Kyrgyzstan. The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov told today at a press conference.

According to him, Kyrgyzstanis died when crossing rivers on horseback in Chatkal and Toktogul districts. «During the swimming season, that is less than for a month, 12 people have drowned," the minister said.

He noted that the recreation centers were obliged to have rescuers who will be on duty on the beaches. «We have been working for three years in this direction, have trained rescuers, issue certificates to them, and about 60 recreation centers have 3–4 rescuers," Kubatbek Boronov said.
