CEC clarifies nomination of Omurbek Tekebayev for presidential post

The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan explained the situation with the nomination of Omurbek Tekebayev for the post of the president of Kyrgyzstan.

It is noted that the leader of Ata Meken faction has the right to submit an application for self-nomination. It was handed over to the working group of the Central Election Commission for the reception and verification of documents of candidates for the presidency of the Kyrgyz Republic.

To be registered, he has to submit a whole package of documents: signature sheets, a certificate of knowledge of the state language and a notice on payment of an electoral deposit.

If the sentence comes into force and the candidate is registered, the grounds for the cancellation of the registration of a candidate or an elected candidate for the presidency are the norms of legislation provided in the law on presidential elections.

Omurbek Tekebayev participates in the presidential elections as self-nominee.
