First candidate for presidency submits documents to CEC of Kyrgyzstan

The first candidate for the presidential post submitted the documents to the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan. CEC informed 24.kg news agency.

According to the commission, he is the chairman of League — Anticrisis NGO, a native of Bazar-Korgon district, Jalal-Abad region Nazarbek Nyshanov. Previously, he was the leader of the Patriotic Party of Kyrgyzstan.

Nazarbek Nyshanov is known for criticizing the interim government and creation in December 2012 a popular-patriotic revolutionary movement of the so-called «pure opposition forces». However, the movement did not conduct any active work.

In 2007, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Nazarbek Nyshanov was wanted for embezzlement in a particularly large scale.

To be registered as a presidential candidate, an applicant must collect at least 30,000 signatures in their support and deposit a pledge of one million soms.
