CEC to announce results of presidential elections no later than on November 4

The Central Election Commission approved a calendar plan for the presidential election 2017. The decision was made the day before at the meeting.

The election campaign of candidates under this document will begin on September 10 and will end on October 14. And the results of the elections should be announced by the Central Election Commission no later than on November 4. It should be noted that the media should submit to the CEC a register for the provision of services to cover the campaign of a particular candidate no later than on August 1.

Elections of the head of state will be held on October 15. Politicians Temir Sariev, Omurbek Babanov, Bakyt Torobayev announced their intention to run for election. The SDPK political council nominated the Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov as a single candidate. The leader of Ata Meken Omurbek Tekebayev, who is held in GKNB pretrial detention center on charges of corruption, does not conceal his presidential ambitions.
