Convicts continue to commit crimes after their release from places of deprivation of liberty. The journalists were reminded of this problem in the ombudsman’s office.
«The state needs to do more to help prisoners in the post-penitentiary period for their reintegration into society," human rights activists note.
«In this regard, it is necessary to develop a state concept on the social adaptation of convicts, provide opportunities for organizing their large-scale employment with attraction of foreign investment, create onew production bases and vocational training," the department for observing human rights in places of restriction of freedom advised.
For 5 months of 2017, the staff of the ombudsman’s office made 73 visits to places of detention.
