First grade admission fees will be banned in Bishkek. The Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Kudaiberdieva announced today at a press conference.
«We clearly understand what these fees are. They are called voluntary, a bank account is given to parents, and moms and dads give this money. We forbid them. And we will raise the issue until dismissal of school directors from their posts," she said.
According to the minister, at present, together with the mayor of the city, an order is being prepared to ban any kinds of tests for first-graders.
All other so-called voluntary parental contributions remain in the framework of public associations' activity at schools.
The head of the Ministry of Education noted that, perhaps, a similar order will be signed together with the mayor of . According to officials, this problem is not so acute in other regions.
