World Bank to increase amount of funding Taza Koom to $ 50 million

World Bank Executive Director for Central and South Asia Werner Gruber at a meeting with the Kyrgyz Minister of Economy Arzybek Kozhoshev said that the WB is ready to increase the amount of funding for the Digital Casa project within the framework of Taza Koom program from $ 20 million to $ 50 million.

It is noted that over these years, Kyrgyzstan received from the WB external financial assistance in the amount of about $ 1.5 billion.

The funds are used to strengthen the most important sectors — transport, agriculture, energy, health, education, public administration, social protection of the population.

Head of the Ministry of Economy at the meeting stressed that the ministry is tasked to develop and implement a system for assessing the effectiveness of investment projects. Werner Gruber expressed his readiness to consider this issue and discuss with the bank’s team options for providing support. He added that now the team of the international financial institution is preparing a strategy for cooperation for the next four years, and therefore the active participation of the Kyrgyz government is expected.
