Almazbek Atambayev tells UN Secretary-General about Taza Koom project

The President of Kyrgyzstan told the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of the Central Asian tour, about Taza Koom project.

According to Almazbek Atambayev, Taza Koom is a priority component of the country’s development strategy for 2020–2040.

The head of state stressed that this is a very ambitious project aimed at the development of digital technologies, creation of an electronic government. One of the goals is to completely clear of the manifestations of corruption and make the work of all state bodies open, transparent and accountable.

«There should not be corruption at any level, beginning with a district police officer, a doctor and an official of rural administration. And public services should be made generally accessible. is a country with democratic values, liberal economy and sustainable ecology. We have all the conditions for implementation of Taza Koom, including political will," Almazbek Atambyev said.

He added that by 2020, broadband Internet will be made available to everyone in every village.

In his turn, Antonio Guterres stressed that he welcomes the efforts of . According to him, Taza Koom opens up new opportunities for cooperation between and the UN, and the country itself is a pioneer not only in the transition to a digital economy, but also in the implementation of digital democracy.

Representatives of the EU and the World Bank at the forum promised their support in the implementation of Taza Koom project.
