China takes over SCO chairmanship

took over chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) from . President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said this at a regular SCO meeting in Astana today.

Kazakhstan passes the baton to China, and its people can always count on support during the presidency over the organization.

The next SCO meeting will be held in June .

Today, at the end of the meeting of SCO Heads of State, the following documents were signed:

— Astana Declaration of SCO Heads of State;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on the completion of the procedure for admission of  to the SCO and granting it the status of a member state of the organization;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on the completion of the procedure for admission of  to the SCO and granting it the status of a member state of the organization;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on the share contributions of SCO states in connection with the granting to  and the status of SCO states;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on approval of the Report of the Secretary General of the organization on the activities of the SCO for the past year;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on approval of the report of the Council of the Regional Antiterrorist Structure of the SCO on the activities of the Regional Antiterrorist Structure in 2016;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on approval of the Regulations on the Permanent Representative of the to SCO RATS;

— Decision of the Council of Heads of State of SCO on the termination of the decisions of the Council of Heads of State of SCO;

— SCO Convention on Counteracting Extremism (as soon as it is agreed);

— Statement of the heads of SCO states on joint counteraction to international terrorism (adopted without signing) (as agreed);

— Information message on the results of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of SCO (adopted without signing).
