Almazbek Atambayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev compare notes

«The border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan should become a border of friendship and peace for the benefit of two fraternal peoples," President Almazbek Atambayev said at a bilateral meeting with the head of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Recall, Astana hosts the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), where the heads of delegations exchange views on the international and regional situation, security issues and development of cooperation in the political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The head of Uzbekistan said that «it became a good tradition after your visit to Samarkand to compare notes at any opportunity.»

And today’s meeting says that our bilateral relations in all spheres are developing actively. Significantly increased the volume of trade turnover, contacts between the border regions of the two countries deepen. Wherever you and I meet, we do everything to move forward.

According to the Uzbek president, six months have shown that the two countries have a good basis to move forward.

«If we unite the business community, then they can do a lot. In fact, there will be a good success. Most importantly, we must do everything to ensure that there are no borders between us. We must have open borders," the head of Uzbekistan said.
