Court hearing of MP Aida Salyanova’s case postponed

The court hearing of the criminal case against Aida Salyanova, deputy of the Parliament from Ata Meken faction, was postponed at the request of Chinara Jakypbekova, the defendant’s lawyer.

The lawyer explained that she had a trial in Issyk-Kul region. Therefore, she can not attend the hearing in Leninsky District Court of Bishkek. Representatives of the prosecution suggested appointing 5–6 hearings in a row so that Jakypbekova could bring her work schedule in line with these dates.

Aida Salyanova is accused of abuse of office, when she, being the Minister of Justice in 2010, extended the license to conduct advocacy activities to Aleksey Eliseev, against whom criminal proceedings were instituted on a number of articles of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
