Court proceedings against the leader of Ata Meken party Omurbek Tekebayev and ex-head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Duishenkul Chotonov were suspended indefinitely. The decision was made today by the judge of Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek Aibek Ernis uulu.
Lawyers of Duishenkul Chotonov filed a cassation appeal to the Bishkek City Court to change the measure of restraint for their client. Earlier, Aibek Ernis uulu denied the petition.
Omurbek Tekebayev and Duishenkul Chotonov are accused of corruption. They were detained in Bishkek on February 26.
The recess is announced for an indefinite period.
