Supporters of the leader of Ata Meken party Omurbek Tekebayev and former head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Duishenkul Chotonov accused of corruption, and ex-deputy from the Socialists fraction Raikan Tologonov, accused of looting, held a protest.
The participants chanted: «Freedom to Tekebayev!», «Freedom to Chotonov!», «Freedom to Tologonov!» and demanded from the presiding judge Aibek Ernis uulu to suspend the hearings until the cassation appeal against the decision of Pervomaisky District Court to keep Duishenkul Chotonov in custody.
Having voiced their demands, the protesters dispersed for lunch.
Earlier, Chotonov’s lawyers petitioned to change the measure of restraint for him. The motion was rejected, and the judge decided to resume the hearing at 2.00 pm.
