Member of terrorist organization detained in Kyrgyzstan

A member of an international terrorist organization was detained in Kyrgyzstan on June 6. Press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, the detainee underwent a mine explosion and special ideological training as a suicide bomber. He was assembling an improvised explosive device and, at the behest of the leaders of the organization, was preparing for a self-explosion in the place of mass gathering of the people.

«IED components, instructions for the manufacture of explosive devices, audio and video materials, extremist literature, grenades, ammunition of various calibers were confiscated at the place of residence of the detainee," the report said.

A criminal case was instituted; the detainee was placed in the pretrial detention center of GKNB.

As of today, 20 organizations are considered to be banned terrorist in the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the latest information from the State Committee for National Security, there are about 600 Kyrgyz citizens in Syria and Iraq.
