House museum of Chingiz Aitmatov to host Doors Open Day

The house museum of Chingiz Aitmatov will host Doors Open Day on June 10. The son of the writer Eldar Aitmatov informed 24.kg news agency.

The house museum of the People’s Writer of Kyrgyzstan is open to all comers from 2014. The writer lived in this house from 1986 until his last days. Everything there reminds of Aitmatov: his manuscripts, a typewriter, personal belongings, photographs, awards. Even the writer’s glasses lie on the bed-side table, as if they are waiting for their owner.

Only a part of his belongings and photographs are presented in several rooms of Aitmatov’s house. Residents and the guests of the capital will be able to see the remaining numerous documents, video and audio recordings, books, other archival materials in the memorial museum of the writer which is planned to be built in Bishkek.

The house museum of Chingiz Aitmatov is located on the territory of the state residence, eight kilometers from Bishkek.
