Deputies of the Parliament want to amend the law On Imposing Moratorium on Transformation of Irrigated Land for the sake of construction of roads. The document will be considered today at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development.
Currently, there is a moratorium on the transformation of irrigated land into other categories of land and types of land. The ban does not apply to the allocation of irrigated lands for perennial fruit plantations, cemeteries, construction of general educational facilities and health facilities, sports and recreation complexes in state or municipal ownership, military, border facilities and outposts, power facilities, gas pipes and their structures, logistics centers, industrial facilities, for the expansion of airport areas.
Deputies propose to add to the list the construction of roads and bridges. The decision is connected with a sharp increase in the number of vehicles: there is a need for the construction of new roads and bridges in major cities of
