Kyrgyzstanis don’t want to receive biometric passports. The deputy Ziyadin Zhamaldinov said this at the session of the parliament today.

He asked the representatives of the State Registration Service who decided not to indicate the nationality in the passport. «Why was it removed? Are we ashamed of this?» the deputy asked.

The State Registration Service was informed that the decision was taken by the government. In addition, the document passed public discussions. However, the answer didn’t satisfy the parliamentarian. He said that because of the lack of nationality Kyrgyzstanis don’t want to receive new passports.

Biometric passports in  began to be issued on May 1. As the State Registration Service assured, the electronic biometric passport of a citizen of the is an identification document of a new type and meets international standards. This is the first electronic passport in  that meets the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and is adequately protected against forgery.
