Officials acknowledge corruption in system of state purchases of Kyrgyzstan

There is corruption in the public procurement system of Kyrgyzstan. Officials of the Ministry of Finance recognized this.

 Today at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic and fiscal policy, MP Abdumazhit Yusurov asked frankly whether there is corruption in the system. Director of the Department of Public Procurement Ulan Danikeev admitted that the process is corrupt. “The sphere of public procurement is the most criticized. There is a mess and corruption there,” he said.

 Deputy Torobay Zulpukarov cited the holding of tenders for the construction of schools at an inflated cost as an example. Deputies together with officials intend to sort out the situation.
