Almazbek Atambayev meets with Patriarch Kirill

Almazbek Atambayev met with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, the Information Policy Department of the President’s Office reported.

According to it, Almazbek Atambayev spoke about the policy in Kyrgyzstan in religious sphere, the main trends in the field of religion.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill in his turn expressed gratitude for the attention to the Orthodox Church.

«The presence of the Orthodox Church here forms a multinational, multi-confessional dimension of the entire Kyrgyz society," patriarch said. — Relations between religions develop in different ways. I can say that there is a unique atmosphere in relations between nationalities, between religions. This forms the stability of society.»

During the meeting, the President of Kyrgyzstan and Patriarch Kirill discussed issues related to the role and importance of religious education in countering radicalism, as well as trends in the development of the religious situation.
