Children of should know the basics of religion, the Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdieva said today at a meeting with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
According to her, it is encouraging that the meeting takes place during the first days of the holy month of Ramadan. «Challenges threaten the foundations of the faith and integrity of society. Education not only gives knowledge, but also ennobles a person. The growth of negative factors in the media and the Internet doesn’t allow the younger generation to see the positive. Together with the family and the education system, these values should be laid," Gulmira Kudaiberdiyeva said.
She added that the Ministry of Education clearly adheres to the norms laid down in the Constitution, but at the same time, the department believes that children should know religion.
