Kyrgyzstan becomes member of Eurasian Confederation of Societies of Rightholders

Kyrgyzstan became a member of the Eurasian Confederation of Societies of Rights Holders, the press service of the Russian Organization for Intellectual Property reported.

According to it, the EEU created the supra-national organization in the field of intellectual property — the Confederation of Societies of Right holders.

Representatives of the leading copyright societies from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan took part in the constituent conference, which was held in the Republican Cultural and Educational Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus.

The initiators of the creation of the Eurasian confederation of rights holders 'societies were the Russian Union of Rightholders, Russian Organization for Intellectual Property and the Russian Authors' Society with the support of the State Service for Intellectual Property and Innovations of Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzpatent).

The initiators see the key tasks of the confederation in the development and implementation of common standards and principles of transparency and control over the activities of societies of rightholders.

The headquarters will be located in Moscow.
