Residents of Issyk-Kul region and tourists can get money for garbage

Residents of Issyk-Kul region and tourists can bring the garbage to drop-off stations and get money. The founder of Eco Demi NGO Dmitry Andreev told today at a press conference.

According to him, three categories of waste are accepted: plastic, glass and paper. «The prices for them vary. Plastic costs from 5 to 9 soms per kilogram, glass — 1–2 soms, paper — from 7 soms," Dmitry Andreev said.

He reminded that waste drop-off stations have been organized in the past year in Balykchy, Cholpon-Ata towns and the villages of Kyzyl-Tuu, Kadzhi-Sai and Bokonbaevo. In 2017, such stations will appear also in Cholpon-Ata town and Bosteri village.
