11 irrigation facilities to be built in Kyrgyzstan this year

This year, the government will set to the construction of 11 irrigation facilities in , the Director of the Department of Water Resources and Land Reclamation Kokumbek Tashtanaliev said today at a press conference.

According to him, 4 out of 11 facilities are planned to be commissioned this year. Construction of three of them will be financed at the expense of the republican budget. It is Kara-Kyshtak channel in Kadamjay district of Batken region worth 90 million soms, Bash-Kuugan in Jumgal district of Naryn region and Terek in Kara-Kuldzha district of  region.

«Many of them have been idle since Soviet times. Construction of some of them is 70 percent completed. As a result of the operation 11 irrigation facilities, of land will be provided with water, 4,200 jobs will be created. The total length of the channels is ," Kokumbek Tashtanaliyev said.
