Young Kyrgyz filmmakers participate in International Film Festival

Young Kyrgyz film makers participate in the International Film Festival in Korea. The art director of the IFF of the CIS, Georgia and the Baltic countries «Kyrgyzstan — Country of Short Films» Nika Zholdosheva told.

According to her, young Kyrgyz filmmakers, winners of the Republican Children and Youth Film Festival Karek — Batyrkan Ilyasov and Timur Iskakov — were invited to the International Cinema Camp in Korea, organized in the framework of the 12th BIKY International Kids and Youth Film Festival. It will be held on July 12-18 in Busan.

As reported, within the cinema camp, young filmmakers from all over the world will have the opportunity to shot their short films under the guidance of professionals. The premiere show of their works will be held within the festival itself.

BIKY started in 2005 to teach the children and young filmmakers (under the age of 18) to realize the true value of media culture in the flow of media content and communication with the world through films, the report said.

Batyrkan Ilyasov with his animated film «Neighbors» won the main prize in the category «Best Animation» of the Republican Children and Youth Film Festival Karek, and Timur Iskakov won the main prize of the same festival for the best film.
