Bishkek City Hall intends to subsidize private transport operators

The City Hall of Bishkek submitted a proposal to subsidize private transport operators with new buses for consideration by the relevant commission of the Bishkek City Council.

This was done to compensate for the transportation of citizens of the beneficial category.

Today, the legislation does not provide for privileges for certain categories of passengers when they are transported by private buses. At the same time, the mayor’s office decides on the support of citizens who have transportation privileges (veterans of the Great Patriotic War, people with disabilities, pensioners) not only in municipal but also in private transport.

Recently, new buses have come out on the route No.35, purchased and operated by a private investor — Shydyr Jol KG LLC.

The bus route was resumed within the framework of public-private partnership between the City Hall and the entrepreneur. The involvement of a private passenger company is associated with an acute shortage of municipal transport in a vehicle fleet for the transportation of citizens and guests of the capital.
