Passenger air travel in world to double thanks to developing countries

In 15 years, passenger air travel will double in the world thanks to developing countries. This was announced today at the round table «The Importance of Air Transport for the Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic" by the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu.

He noted the political will of the leadership of Kyrgyzstan and commitment to the development of civil aviation. «We pay special attention to the countries of Central Asia, in particular, to Kyrgyzstan. We adhere to the principle that no country will be left behind," Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu said.

Within 15 years, the transportation of passengers will double. If 100,000 flights are performed daily, then in 15 years there will be 200,000. The main increase in the flow will occur thanks to the countries with developing economies.

He added that, despite the positive dynamics, there are many challenges. «We must solve them. These are infrastructure projects. It is good that Kyrgyzstan intends to introduce an electronic visa. We are ready to assist in providing security in terms of training employees. There may be technological problems. We must solve them jointly," he said.
