Outpatient treatment of tuberculosis introduced in Suzak district of Kyrgyzstan

An outpatient model of tuberculosis treatment is being introduced in Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region of . The press service of the Ministry of Health reported.

«Suzak district became the second pilot site after Chui region on introduction of outpatient treatment of tuberculosis. It does not affect the patient’s way of life, reduces fear and risks of intrahospital infection, improves treatment through the country’s support groups for tuberculosis patients, mitigates discrimination and is cheaper than inpatient," the ministry said.

We serve 90,000 people, there are 20 groups of family doctors and 29 first aid stations in the district. Its TB situation is unfavorable.

According to the director, the center has joined the project «Let’s Win Tuberculosis Together» in 2016, with the help of which the staff was trained.

«In 2016, 25 people with tuberculosis out of 317 detected were treated, active explanatory work is carried out among the population and patients that it is necessary to observe the regime impeccably and daily to be under the supervision of medical personnel and take medicines," Zamira Orunbaeva told.
