Children’s institutions to be provided with preferential electricity tariffs

Children’s institutions in Kyrgyzstan will be provided with preferential tariffs for electricity. This was the answer of head of the department for protection of the family and children of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulmira Akhmatova to the question of the correspondent of 24.kg news agency about kinds of benefits for electricity, provided for institutions that help children who find themselves in a difficult life situation.

Recall, in October 2014, the Public Association «Children’s Protection Center" appealed to the government and deputies of the Parliament with a request to provide benefits in electricity and heating tariffs for organizations that provide social services for children in this category.

The applicants asked to work out «a policy of a just differentiated approach to payment for electricity supply services for non-residential subscribers, non-profit organizations that provide social services to children and the elderly and don’t have income and profits.»

As Gulmira Akhmatova explained, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development is aware of the situation.

I was at the meeting in the government’s office three times, where the question was raised. Up to date, the Regulation on the accreditation of children’s institutions, regardless of the form of ownership, which will be provided with preferential tariffs for electricity was adopted. The question will be resolved positively.
