The water level in several rivers in has risen sharply, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to its data, this is associated with an elevated temperature background and torrential rains in the foothills and mountain regions of the republic.
«The water content of most of the republic’s rivers increased and amounts to 129–198 percent. The flow of the rivers -Archa, Sokuluk, Kara-Balta, Chon-Kaiyndy, Talas, Kumush-Too, Naryn, Bolshoy Naryn, Uzun-Akmat, Padysha-Ata, Kara-Kulja and Tar is much higher than the norm (201–561 percent). And the water flow in the rivers Talas, Kumush-Too, Uzun-Akmat, Chichkan, Padysha-Ata, Tentek-Sai, Mailuu-Suu, Kara-Kuldja and Tar is close to the critical level," the ministry said.
The Ministry of Emergencies warns of possible mudslides and flooding of areas and territories adjacent to riverbeds.
In Jalal-Abad region, 36 houses in the village of Baikashka-Terek, 43 houses in the village of Aral, the village of Kara-Bashat are under threat of flooding due to the increase in the water level of the rivers Avletim and Padysha-Ata in the Aksy region and Terek-Sai.
It was noted that residents of 15 houses were evacuated from dangerous villages.
Also, according to the information of the ministry, 12 houses in the of in Ala-Buka district and seven houses in Chon-Alai district of the region were threatened with flooding.
Bank protection works are being carried out in all hazardous areas.
