Clean-up Day on Issyk-Kul Lake shore. Photo-report

A large-scale clean-up was held on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake within the Issyk-Kul International Tourism Fair-Exhibition 2017.

According to the organizers, the campaign was attended by 150 people from Bishkek and 100 people from Bosteri village.

«5 tons of solid household waste was collected. The rubbish was sorted by categories — plastic, glass and paper. Then it was sent to SHW collection point in Cholpon-Ata town. In the future, we plan a global campaign to clean up the territory of Issyk-Kul Lake, which will be held on May 27–28 throughout the region," organizer of the campaign Dmitry Andreev told.

According to him, last year he together with like-minded people created a movement «Taza Issyk-Kul» and held a campaign to clean up the road outside Balykchi town. «The participants, mostly young guys, saw with their own eyes negligent attitude to nature on the part of the majority of the tourists," he added.
