Dmitry Medvedev writes off Kyrgyzstan’s debt of $ 240 million

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev wrote off debt of Kyrgyzstan of $ 240 million. Russian media reported.

It is noted that the head of the Russian government signed an order to write off Kyrgyzstan's debt. The republic owed exactly this amount to Russia as of March 30, 2017.

It is noted that it was done to provide official assistance to the development of Kyrgyzstan. In 2012, Moscow and Bishkek signed an agreement on debt settlement for a total of about $ 500 million.

Recall, the Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev spoke about writing off the republic’s debt to Russia in April.
