Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan visits village hit by landslide

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov visited Kok-Alma village in Bazar-Korgon district, which was hit by a landslide the day before. Information Support Department of the government reported.

According to it, victims and destruction were not reported thanks to the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations who had evacuated 5,000 residents of Bazar-Korgon and Nooken districts for a night.

According to the head of the district Aybek Begimkulov, the landslide volume amounted to 750,000 cubic meters. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed to accelerate the work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.

In Bazar-Korgon district, Sooronbay Jeenbekov inspected bridges on Kara-Unkur River and in Chkalov village, which had been previously washed out. The Ministry of Transport and Roads was tasked with developing new bridge projects. The old bridge on Kara-Unkur River must be dismantled until June.
