The court hearing on the case of top management of MegaCom will resume on May 10. The lawyer of the ex-adviser of the former head of Alfa Telecom CJSC Almazbek Abekov, Abaz Mambetakunov, told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the hearing in the Supreme Court was scheduled for April 25, but because of the illness of the judge, who was supposed to be the rapporteur on the case from the state prosecution, the hearing was repeatedly postponed.

He added that lawyers representing the interests of Abbekov demanded to send the case for a new investigation.

«But the state prosecution wants the court to review the decision of the previous instance court in a civil suit. In the opinion of the prosecutor’s office, my client and former head of the company Azamat Murzaliyev must compensate for the damage, as they say, in solidarity, and not individually," Abaz Mambetakunov said.

Earlier, lawyers of defendant representatives of the top management of the company declared that they would not appeal against the decision of the Bishkek City Court and would immediately appeal to the UN Human Rights Committee.

Note, the Bishkek City Court upheld the verdict of the first instance court. Almazbek Abekov, a former adviser to the head of Alfa Telecom CJSC, received 25 years in prison with confiscation of property and is to pay 91 million soms in favor of the mobile operator.

The court sentenced Azamat Murzaliev to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Director of the company «Novostroy Service» Aman uulu Kenzhebek by court order will spend eight years in the colony. The court found them guilty of all the incriminated acts.
