Parliament proposes to amend the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code of the and change the procedure for parole. The issue is discussed at the plenary session.
The main innovation of the bill is that in the case of committing a new offense by a convicted person, a repeated parole is not granted to him. This should contribute to the self-discipline of the convicts, who were previously subjected to parole.
According to the analysis, more than 900 convicts to whom parole was previously granted are serving their sentences in the institutions of the penitentiary system. Also, convicts who are released on parole should pay compensation for material damage. In addition, in order to prevent the spread of socially dangerous diseases, convicts must undergo treatment.
