has not paid membership fees to UNIDO since 1992. The head of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources, Duishenbek Zilaliyev, said today at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on the fuel, energy complex and subsoil use.

According to him, as a result, there is a debt of €383,000. Up to date, 77,000 had been paid from the special account of the State Committee and the Ministry of Finance.

As Duishenbek Zilaliyev told 24.kg news agency, the debt was formed due to lack of funds. But the republic does not intend to withdraw from such an authoritative organization. Its representatives will arrive in the country in June and it is planned to sign an agreement.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized organization of the United Nations which assists developing countries and countries with transition economies in their struggle against marginalization amid the current globalization environment.
