Temir Sariev: Kyrgyzstan needs national awakening

Temir Sariev believes that Kyrgyzstan needs a national awakening. He stated this today at the round table «State, Politics and Responsibility.»

According to the ex-prime minister, strong public institutions committed to democracy, a strong system of governance and reforms are needed  for the establishment and development of Kyrgyzstan as a successful state.

«We are now facing many problems due to the fact that the judicial reform has stalled. Political scandals became more frequent. People like Omurbek Tekebayev and Aida Salyanova are under investigation. But judicial reform is impossible without radical changes in the law enforcement sphere," Temir Sariev noted.

Politicians should remember that they are also responsible.

The former head of the Accounts Chamber Elmira Ibraimova touched upon the topic of the forthcoming presidential elections. She noted that there would be no threat of a violent change of power only under the condition of holding an open voting and honest summary of the results.
