Almazbek Atambayev believes another organization to appear to replace ISIL

President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev believes that if ISIL is destroyed, another organization will appear to replace it. He stated this in an interview with MIR TV channel.

According to him, this issue needs to be approached globally, people should strive for struggle with this ideology, first of all, in Muslim world. «ISIL can be destroyed for a year or two, but some other organization will appear to replace it. Because, unfortunately, we often see in the Islamic countries today that people sometimes have no choice: on the one hand, there is some kind of monarchical or authoritarian regime that is engaged only in personal enrichment, and on the other — the Islamic caliphate of ISIL, which offers an idea of Islamic socialism, universal equality, what was offered to us in 1917, «Almazbek Atambayev said.

He added that this idea captures people, and there is only one way out: to show Islamic countries that there is a way of normal development of the country, normal secular, democratic development — with freedom of religion, with freedom of conscience. This is what Kyrgyzstan is trying to do.

I will not conceal: we have some organizations that are prohibited in CSTO countries. They are permitted in Kyrgyzstan, but I would not say that we have more tension or more terrorists — quite the opposite.

«Sometimes one should not use the method of prohibitions or bombing, as the United States often did, but use the method of prevention and looking deeper into the problem. Although, of course, we understand the threat from Afghanistan. About a week ago, joint exercises were held between Russia and Tajikistan, last year all CSTO countries conducted maneuvers on the border of Tajikistan with Afghanistan, including a group of several of our units. Moreover, our troops have reached the site of the exercise in Tajikistan on foot. Thus, we tested, whether our soldiers would have time to come to assist our friends from Tajikistan in case of aggravation of the situation," Almazbek Atambayev said.
