228 criminal cases on passports, their forgery opened in Kyrgyzstan for 2 years

According to the Central Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, in 2015–2016 investigative units opened 228 criminal cases on crimes related to illegal issue and forgery of passports. This was announced today at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on the rule of law, fighting crime and countering corruption.

Recall, results of the check of the implementation of the law on Counteracting Corruption in the State Registration Service and studying the facts of the illegal issue, forgery and use of Kyrgyz passports, conducted by the parliamentary working group, are being considered today.

The State Committee for National Security initiated 98 cases, Internal Departments -73, prosecutor’s office — 54, State Service for Combating Economic Crimes — 3 cases.

125 cases were sent to court, 11 cases were dismissed on non-rehabilitating grounds, 8- suspended for failure to find the accused — 8, 34-for failure to identify the person subject to criminal liability, 50 cases are being investigated.
