Large energy project implemented in Kyrgyzstan

One of the large energy projects was implemented in . Launch of Kemin-Ala-Archa high-voltage line of 220 kilovolt took place today at Ala-Archa substation in Sokuluk district, Chui region.

As the head of the National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev noted, $ 4.8 million were spent on the construction of 78 poles and of power lines.

According to Medetbek Aitkulov, the director general of the National Energy Network of Kyrgyzstan, the substation Ala-Archa is one of the largest and most central in the country’s power system. Three lines of 220 kilovolts run to it from Kemin and Frunzenskaya substations which are connected to the cascade of Toktogul hydroelectric power stations.

«8 lines of 110 kV go out of the substation, I call them «blood vessels» of Bishkek, they fully provide the life of the capital, two transformers with a capacity of 200 megawatts are installed here," Medetbek Aitkulov said.

According to Zholdoshbek Imanaliev, the chief of the substations service of Chui high-voltage power grids enterprise, earlier, to repair a line, it was necessary to disconnect consumers, now the power engineers can work without shutdowns.

The power transmission lines were built in the framework of the project «Improvement of electricity supply in Bishkek and cities," which is implemented at the expense of the loan from the Islamic Development Bank. The project also reconstructed three large substations: in Bishkek — Vostochnaya and Kyzyl-Asker, in  — Kara-Suu.
