MP warns against possible border conflict with Kazakhstan

The deputy of the Зarliament Parkhat Tulendybayev saw the possibility of a border conflict with Kazakhstan.

According to him, in the spring, villagers face with a serious problem of soil losses of agricultural land.

«I met with the residents of Vasilievka in Alamudun district of Chui region. The number one problem they have is soil losses to the territory of Kazakhstan. Residents of Vasilievka are desperate and ready to return land from the territory of a neighboring state to Kyrgyzstan independently, which can lead to a border conflict," he said at a meeting of the Parliament.

Parkhat Tulendybayev noted that bank protection works along the Chui region have begun.

According to him, the Ministry of Emergency in 2013 developed a master plan for the protection of the left bank of the river from Tokmak.

193 potentially hazardous areas were detected. The length of the coast, subject to erosion, is 64 km. About 500-700 ha of land were already lost.

«There are 120 million soms for the work, but this is not enough. I ask the Ministry of Finance and the government to pay special attention to this problem and increase funding," the deputy added.
