Criminal case on looting in 2010 transferred to GKNB

The Kyrgyz Prosecutor General’s Office transferred a criminal case on looting in Bishkek during the April events of 2010 to GKNB for further investigation, its press service reported.

On August 22, 2012, the Prosecutor General's Office instituted criminal proceedings under articles 168 (robbery), 172 (improper possession of a car or other motor vehicle), 208 (trafficking in precious metals, natural precious stones) and 245 (theft or extortion of firearms, ammunition, explosives substances) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The case was investigated by the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At present, GKNB carries out the necessary investigative and operational activities to find out the actual circumstances of the case and to bring the perpetrators to criminal liability.
